The Leningrad School of Painting
The Leningrad School of Painting is a group of Soviet artists, established in Leningrad in 1930s over The Academy of Arts and unified by the Leningrad Union od Soviet Artists. Representatives of the Leningrad School of Painting are about 1200 Soviet artists.

Socialist Realism
Socialist Realism was a prevalent art style in the USSR and other socialist countries. In 1932 it was officially accepted by the government of the Soviet Union. Socialist Realism works were characterized by depicting life in light of socialist ideals.

Primitivism
Primitivism
(naïve painting) is an art movement of the 19th century. Its main
feature is simplification of a painting so that it looks primitive as though painted
by a child.

Impressionism
Impressionism is a 19th century art movement. The Impressionists attempted to represent the reality in its changing qualities. The most remarkable representatives of Impressionism are Claude Monet, Paul Cézanne, Pierre Auguste Renoir and many others.

Realism
Realism is an artistic movementm which is characteristized by the precise and accurate depiction of the real life. It started under the leadership of Gustave Courbet as an opposition to Romanticism in the 19th century.

Academism
Academism is an art movement of the 17-19th centuries with a particular focus on the necessity to adhere to the rules and principles defined by art acamedies, using the heritage of Antiquity and Renaissance.
