Andrey Simakov was born in Russia in the family of woodcarving artists. Having finished the secondary school he entered the Bogorodskoye Art College, the department of decorative woodcarving art. Studying there Andrey got interested in exploring drawing and painting.

After graduating from the Art College with honours degree he continued his study in the Moscow Teachers Training University, the faculty of fine arts where he studied water-color drawing, painting and composition. The same courses Andrey took in the Academy of Art after the name of Repin in Saint Petersburg.

Today Andrey Simakov works as a teacher of drawing and composition at the Abramtsevo Art College. He takes part at the exhibitions in Russia.

There are many of his works are in the private collections in the USA, Germany and Great Britain.
